           About the Book
The book traces Britain’s changing role in West Asia in general and Palestine-
Israel Conflict in particular. It uncovers the current state of bilateral, regional
and global role of Britain in the Conflict and challenges it confronts in
21stCentury. It argues that during the colonial period, Britain’s positions and
polices necessitated the origin of the Palestine Question. During the Cold
War period the relations were mainly shaped by Great Powers and became
a non-decisive actor in the issue. However, at the end of Cold War and the
subsequent emergence of unipolar cum-multi polar world order has had a
great impact on the West Asian region. Britain began to reinvent her position
to address the complex challenges and prospects in the region, particularly the
unfinished dream of establishing a Palestine state. Though short, the book is
a comprehensive study from an Indian/Asian perspective of Palestine-Israel
conflict and Britain in the present century.
