INDIAN COUNCIL SAPRU HOUSE
                              OF WORLD AFFAIRS

Ambassador M K Rasgotra Collection in Sapru House Library

The gradual upgradation of the Sapru House Library
has enabled consideration of requests for accepting
personal book collections of eminent persons. Last year,
Ambassador M.K. Rasgotra, former Foreign Secretary
had expressed willingness to donate his very valuable
collection of about 2000 books covering a wide range of
subjects from international affairs, politics, geography,
                          Ambassador M K Rasgotra
economics, biographies, area study collections, etc.
Consequently, the Ambassador M.K. Rasgotra Collection
is being established in the Sapru House Library. This
collection is valuable given Shri Rasgotra's wide ranging
interests, his love of books and extensive experience and
knowledge of foreign policy, diplomacy and international
affairs. Earlier, in 2019, the family of Dr. A. Appadorai, the first Secretary General, ICWA had donated books
to the Sapru House Library comprising the remainder of his personal collection. This was a valuable addition
given Dr. A. Appadorai’s substantive contribution to not only the institutional growth of ICWA but also to the
founding of the disciplines of international affairs and area studies in India.
