Indian Council of World Affairs

Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), an institute of national importance under the ICWA Act, 2001, located at Barakhamba Road, New Delhi 110001, and IIT Dharwad, Karnataka, one of the 23 IIT’s established in 2016 as an institute of national importance which has recently moved to its permanent campus, Chikkmalligawad, Dharwad, Karnataka. 

Hon'ble Vice-President of India Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar recently visited IIT Dharwad, on 1^st March 2024 and had announced an MoU of ICWA with IIT Dharwad. Hon'ble Vice-President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar is the President of ICWA. 

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 26^th April 2024 between ICWA and IIT Dharwad, which will be valid for a period of three years. 

The objective of the MoU is to organise studies and seminars on agreed topics on international affairs and Indian foreign policy and both parties have agreed to collaborate in the following manner:

1. Organizing joint events;
2. Undertaking joint studies through mutually agreed modalities on issues of common interest;
3. iii. If requested by IIT Dharwad, ICWA will consider offering internships to students of IIT Dharwad, aimed at building their capacity / skills in international affairs and foreign policy.
