The Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), an institution of national importance, incorporated under the ICWA Act, 2001, invites applications (in the attached form) for position of Senior Research Fellow with specialization in South East Asia on contract basis for research work.

Candidates having the following educational qualifications & experience may apply:-

1.  A good academic record, with a Ph.D Degree in a specialized area of international relations and security studies/ political science/ history.
2. An active engagement in research with post-Ph.D experience in research / teaching in a research/ academic position in an accredited Institution/ Think-Tank/ University.
3. Publications of high quality by reputed publishers; research articles in national and international journals, and commentaries in reputed journals, websites and, newspapers.

Single authored book, language expertise and field exposure in the relevant area of specialization would be given weightage.

Selected Senior Research Fellows will be expected to conduct, design, review and coordinate research activities/ projects related to their area of specialization in the field of foreign policy and international affairs. They will be required to plan, organize and participate in conferences, dialogues, publication & outreach activities in the areas determined by the Council. Experience in these activities will, therefore, strengthen a candidate’s application.  

The contractual term of Senior Research Fellows in the Council will be of two years, with a probation period of six months. The monthly emoluments will be Rs. 97,256/- p.m. (TDS to be deducted as applicable). No other allowances/facilities will be admissible, except TA/DA for official tours at the rates admissible to Group-A Officers of the Central Government. The candidates are required to submit No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their existing employer, if any, at the time of interview.

Outstation candidates called for interview will be paid 2nd AC return train fare only, subject to the production of original ticket.

The ICWA reserves the right to reject any or all applications without assigning any reason. The decision of the ICWA regarding selection of applicants for interview and/or appointment shall be final.
