The Sapru House Library has been awarded the prestigious ISO 9001: 2015 certification for quality management systems on 7 November 2025. This significant achievement makes the Sapru House Library one of the few libraries in India to receive this international recognition.

2.  ISO 9001: 2015 is the international standard for quality management systems, ensuring organizations meet customer and regulatory requirements while pursuing continuous improvement.

3.  The Certification reflects Sapru House library’s commitment to delivering efficient services while maintaining global quality standards and continuously enhancing user experience. By adhering to ISO 9001: 2015 standards, the Sapru House Library has established a framework for effective documentation and constant improvement in its systems and operations.

4.  The ISO certification is a culmination of a series of steps undertaken in recent years to improve the maintenance, upkeep and services of the Sapru House Library ranging from physical renovation, physical verification of collections, binding, weeding out, updating of cataloguing and classification, maintenance of rare book collection, digitalization and automation of processes, enhancing online resources to improvement in reading hall services. 

5.  Achieving ISO 9001:2015 further reinforces the standing of Sapru House Library as one of the premier research libraries in the country on international relations, diplomacy and related disciplines and reflects a milestone in its evolution and growth since its establishment in 1943.
